Frequently asked questions
The ATV ride is guided. At Blue Falls you walk the marked trails on your own, at your own pace, for at least four hours. If you prefer a guide in the canyon, ask us about the Quebrada Gata hike.
Moderate. There are stairs, slopes and muddy stretches, especially after rain. Most active travellers do it comfortably by taking breaks at the viewpoints.
The colour comes from minerals of volcanic origin carried by the river, which reflect sunlight and turn the water turquoise. It looks brightest on sunny days after a few dry hours.
The ATV ride starts in Venecia de San Carlos, Alajuela, and the trails are in Bajos del Toro. We send the exact meeting point on WhatsApp when you book.
The tour runs in light rain, although the trails get muddier and the water loses some colour. If conditions are unsafe, we offer you another date or a full refund.
You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the tour starts. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before, or no-shows, are not refunded.
