Frequently asked questions
Access depends on volcanic activity and on SINAC, and the park has closed at times. We check the park status before every trip; if it closes on your date, we offer another day or a full refund of our service.
Yes. Entry must be booked in advance on the official SINAC website, and the fee is paid there, not to us. Bring your digital ticket code and we plan the trip around your entry time.
On clear days, yes: the crater, the acidic lagoon and the fumaroles. Clouds can cover it quickly, and mornings are usually clearer, so we recommend an early entry time.
About 1 to 2 hours inside the park, depending on your pace, so the trip takes about half a day. The park is roughly 50 km from Alajuela.
Yes, it is one of the best combinations in the area: the crater in the morning and La Paz Waterfall Gardens in the afternoon. Ask us for the full-day option on WhatsApp.
Bring a warm jacket, a raincoat and closed-toe shoes, as it is cold and often wet at the top. You can cancel our service free of charge up to 24 hours before; the SINAC entry follows SINAC’s own rules.
